It's a name that carries positive connotations, symbolizing happiness, prosperity, and good fortune. In Islamic tradition, Maymuna is also the name of one of the wives of the Prophet Muhammad, adding spiritual significance to the name. Overall, Maymuna is a beautiful and meaningful name that is often chosen for its positive attributes and cultural or religious significance.

Maymuna 13 Corporation is run by a team of experienced professionals who are dedicated to supporting individuals become productive and positive members society. Our "Safe Haven" recovery home is managed and operated by a team of professionals with expertise in various areas related to addiction recovery, mental health, social work, and community support. Our multidisciplinary team includes the following professionals:

1. Licensed Counselors and Therapists:  These professionals provide individual and group counseling sessions, facilitate therapy sessions, and offer support for residents dealing with substance abuse issues, trauma, mental health disorders, and other challenges.

2.  Case Managers:  Case managers work closely with residents to develop personalized treatment plans, set goals, coordinate services, and advocate for their needs. They help residents navigate the recovery process, access resources, and address any barriers to progress.

3.  Medical Staff:  Depending on the needs of the residents, safe haven recovery homes may employ nurses, nurse practitioners, or physicians to provide medical assessments, monitor health conditions, administer medications, and coordinate healthcare services.

4.  Peer Support Specialists:  Peer support specialists are individuals who have personal experience with addiction and recovery and can provide valuable insights, empathy, and encouragement to residents. They offer peer mentoring, lead support groups, and serve as role models for those in recovery.

5.  Social Workers:   Social workers assist residents with accessing social services, benefits, and community resources. They may also provide advocacy, crisis intervention, and support for family reunification or other social needs.

6.  Residential Managers:  Residential managers oversee the day-to-day operations of the recovery home, ensuring that it remains a safe, supportive, and well-maintained environment for residents. They handle administrative tasks, manage staff, enforce rules and regulations, and address any issues that arise.

7.  Recovery Coaches:  Recovery coaches provide practical guidance, encouragement, and support to residents as they navigate the challenges of early recovery. They offer assistance with goal setting, relapse prevention strategies, and life skills development.

8.  Nutritionists and Wellness Coordinators:  These professionals help residents prioritize their physical health and well-being by providing nutrition education, meal planning support, fitness activities, and access to holistic wellness practices such as yoga, meditation, and mindfulness.

9.  Employment Specialists:  Employment specialists assist residents with job readiness skills, resume building, job search strategies, and employment placement services. They may also collaborate with local businesses to create job opportunities for residents.

10.  Education and Vocational Training Instructors:  These professionals offer educational and vocational training programs within the recovery home, helping residents improve their academic skills, earn certifications, and pursue career paths that support their long-term recovery goals.

Maymuna 13 Corporation differs from traditional transitional homes in that we prioritize individualized care and support for our residents, with a focus on rehabilitation and community reintegration. We also offer a range of services, including job training and placement, counseling, education, and housing assistance.

Ms. Rosslynn Mitchell, better known as "Auntie Ross" by previous as well as current clients, stated, 

"My former mentor named me Maymuna because he said he knew all the blessings were going to start to show in my own life, as well as all the blessings I would later begin to bestow when touching the lives of others; all the while allowing God to work through me." 

She promised her mentor that she would name her  company "Maymuna" and vowed to keep her promise. In 2019 Maymuna 13 Corporation 501(c)(3) was founded. Almost five years later, her mission and passion are still stronger than ever! With a countless number of clients who have completed her programs, who have successfully transitioned into their own independent, positive and productive lifestyle, it's no wonder why Maymuna 13 Corporation 501(c)(3) has continued to progress and grow. 

Auntie Ross stated, "This is what God has laid upon my heart to do and this is what I will continue to do for those who need it because that is what was done for me by those whom I myself am now like, and because these blessings are never going to stop being needed by so many, not only in my community and neighborhood, but also for different communities across the country, and even in different countries spanning across the globe." 

We have a wide variety of clients that we accept here at Maymuna. Those who qualify range from but are not limited to:

• General Relief clients who receive cash assistance/aid from the Department of Public Social Services, 
• Individuals on SSI/SSDI assistance every month, 
• Individuals who are court ordered (as we do work with the court systems as well), and finally,
• Those who are able to afford private pay. 

No matter what a person's financial situation consists of, here at Maymuna, we will always go above and beyond to ensure that finances are not an issue when it comes to the personal care and growth of an individual.  We will absolutely do what we can on our end to give an individual the encouragement and and self-perseverance to thrive.

At Maymuna 13 Corporation, we believe in treating the whole person, not just the addiction. We provide a supportive and structured environment that promotes personal growth and development.

The admission process for Maymuna 13 Corporation involves an initial assessment to determine eligibility and fitability within our environment, followed by an interview and evaluation process. We work closely with each potential resident to ensure that our program is a good fit for their needs and goals.
